Fairfield presents annual Veterans Day Parade this Friday

‘Pray. Thank. Remember’

It's a fitting theme this year for the Fairfield Main Street Association's beloved Veterans Day Parade. The association, along with the American Legion, will present the Veterans Day Commemoration and Parade in downtown Fairfield this Friday. The day will begin at 10 a.m. with a patriotic concert by Alive Music Orchestra and a ceremony of remembrance inside the Downtown Theatre. The parade will start at 12:30 p.m. and travel downtown along Texas Street.

The parade Grand Marshal is Colonel John M. Klein, Jr., commander of the 60th Air Mobility Wing at Travis Air Force Base.  As commander, he is responsible for the combined efforts of all operations and support activities associated with the worldwide air mobility mission. Colonel Klein is a command pilot with more than 3,000 flying hours including 340 combat hours. He has served as an Evaluator Pilot, Mission Commander, and USAF Weapons Officer.

Spectators will also be able to enjoy Travis' USAF Band of the Golden West performing in the parade. Other confirmed entries include the Veterans of Foriegn Wars,  Disabled American Veterans, Knights of Columbus, Vanden High School ROTC, the Crystal Middle School marching band, the Fairfield High School Scarlett Brigade, V-Sharp Academy, Armijo High School ROTC, Grangre Middle School Band and many others
