Galvan Family Cellars opening new tasting room in Fairfield
Fairfield will soon be the home to a brand new tasting room.
Galvan Family Cellars, which offers wine made from grapes grown in Suisun Valley, Green Valley and Napa Valley, will be opening a new tasting room on Edison Court in Fairfield this spring. Galvan Family Cellars has been crafting unique wines from California vineyards since 2003 and Salvador Galvan is also owner and winemaker for Solano Wine Collective, a custom crush and wine consulting business he created in Green Valley.
Salvador Galvan has been making wine since the late 1990s and over the years, has worked his way from the El Dorado Foothills to Napa and the San Francisco Bay Area. Since the family's first production of 200 cases in 2003, Galvan Family Cellars has steadily grown to 3,500 cases between several small production single varietal wines and proprietary blends. Their wines can be found in a number of locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and the family is also very active with the Green Valley Farmers Market, the Fairfield Tomato Festival, and other Suisun Valley/Green Valley events and activities.
Their current releases include the 2012 Sauvignon Blanc, Rutherford, Napa, the 2011 Wirth Ranch Red, Solano County Green Valley, the 2011 Viejo, Solano County Green Valley and the 2011 “In Cahoots” Late Harvest Petite Sirah, Suisun Valley. The family is also looking forward to the upcoming March release of the 2012 Viejo, Solano County Green Valley and the 2012 Zinfandel, Stagecoach Vineyard, Atlas Peak, Napa. The wines range in price from $20 to $28 a bottle.
The family's philosophy, according to their website: "Great wine starts in the vineyard. While we do produce certain close-to-our-heart varietals year after year, we also let other varietals pick us- we are inspired by the growers we meet who practice sustainable farming methods for captivating vineyard sites."
The tasting room will open this spring at 499 Edison Court. People are encouraged to visit the family's website, at www.galvanwine.com, for more information, or search for "Galvan Family Cellars" on Facebook.
