Il Fiorello Olive Oil Company will host its second and final Community Milling Day of 2016 on Sunday, Nov. 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Community milling days are designed for growers with less than the minimum requirement of 800 pounds of olives for custom milling. It is also a great opportunity for people to get an up close look at the milling process.
This is a day to enjoy being with other growers and making delicious olive oil. With all the olives collected on this day, Il Fiorello creates a unique Suisun Valley Blend that all the growers are able to sample and take home. All types of olives are welcome. Often, the more variety in olives, the better the Suisun Valley blend. The 2015 blend went on to win awards at the state level. How will this year's creation do? Come find out on Nov. 27.

Did you know....
Olives are delivered to the mill the same day they are harvested! It is a recommend practice that olives are milled within 12 to 24 hours of picking. And unlike wine, where it's not uncommon at all to wait a year to taste new vintages, you're able to sample the new oil just HOURS after pickin the olives!
