10Best had this to say about Fairfield’s Jelly Belly Factory: “This Fairfield, Calif., factory tour smells sweet and will leave your pockets full of free jelly beans. Ever wondered how they make Jelly Bellies taste like buttered popcorn, coffee or root beer? Did you know it takes more than a week to make each jelly bean? Watch the bean-making behind the scenes in this free, 40-minute walking tour. During weekdays, a guide will show you how the factory works (and you will leave with an optional souvenir photo to buy). For an even more in-depth tour, sign up for the one-hour Jelly Belly University tour, a small-group tour into the heart of the factory. On weekends and holidays, the factory shuts down, but visitors can still tour the facility and watch educational videos.” The Fairfield Jelly Belly Factory is located at 1 Jelly Belly Lane and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free daily tours are offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. While visiting the factory, make sure to stop in the visitor’s center, where you can taste every Jelly Belly flavor at the sample bar or purchase jelly beans, candy, fudge or chocolate to take home. If you’re looking for a different flavor, check out Jelly Belly’s Chocolate and Wine Pairing experience upstairs, featuring chocolate made at Jelly Belly and delicious wines from Fairfield’s Suisun Valley. There is also a non-alcoholic version too! Visit www.jellybelly.com to find a calendar of upcoming activities. The factory’s popular Candy Palooza celebration is Sept. 26 and 27. Plan your visit today!”
