Jelly Belly's Candy Palooza will celebrate all that is sweet in life

Celebrate everything sweet in life at the Jelly Belly Candy Palooza, a free candy festival this Saturday, Sept. 27 and Sunday, Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fairfield's Jelly Belly Factory.

This event for sweet teeth of all ages will feature free tours, free samples, free parking and free admission for all.  Meet special guests Paris Themmen (Mike Teevee) and Julie Dawn Cole (Veruca Salt) from the 1971 classic film, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory on both days of the event. Enjoy carnival rides, games and candy tastings. Browse an assortment of craft and quality vendor booths offering unique hand-crafted items created by artists and artisans from all points in Solano County and beyond. Visitors can also watch animal shows or take a pony ride. While admission is free, rides and midway games do require ticket purchase.  An ATM is available onsite.

These are just a  few highlights of the sweet two-day event, which will also include all-day musical and dance performances on the Jelly Belly stage.

Local non-profits will also have a presence at the candy festival including

  • Yippie Yogurt, a nonprofit devoted to "Teaching Kids to Fish" by providing Solano County homeless, foster care, and poverty-level youth, age 16-24 with real world job training and skills in the "Yippie Yogurt" training shop.

  • Children's Nurturing Project help nurture healthy parent-child relationships through support services and education with a goal that children will develop socially, physically and emotionally through nurturing and personal growth.

  • Rush Ranch, an open space ranch owned and managed by the Solano Land Trust for the San Francisco Bay national Estuarine Research Reserve. Volunteer run, the ranch offers various activities such as star-gazing during the summer months, wagon rides, a traditional blacksmith, self-guided trails and nature spotting.


A fan of Buttered Popcorn? Make sure to try Buttered Popcorn inspired sweets to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the controversial flavor, featuring fudge, taffy and jelly beans inside the Visitor Center. It's also the season of pumpkin! Guests can try the return of Pumpkin Pie Jelly Belly beans and Pumpkin Pie Fudge at the festival along with many other candy tastings.  Local food purveyors and food trucks will be serving up delicious dishes and there will also be a beer and wine tent.  Free Jelly Belly factory tours will be available throughout the candy festival.
