Lincoln Highway 100th Anniversary Tour starts on June 22nd, 2013 in California
Starting June 22, 2013 from San Francisco and June 21, 2013 from New York ending on June 30, 2013 in Kearney, Nebraska 270 people will travel in 140 vehicles, from 28 U.S. states and from Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Norway and Russia.
Historians and tourists from around the world will travel the official Lincoln Highway for it's Centennial Tour, heading towards Kearney, Nebraska from each coast, on America’s first paved transcontinental road: the Lincoln Highway. Antique cars, Classics, muscle cars, ’50s cars, trucks, motorcycles, street rods, are among the few that will be utilized for this adventure.
Travelers from the West will begin their journey in San Francisco and Oakland, California, through the I-80 corridor, passing Fairfield , (which became apart of the Lincoln Highway in it's third generation alignment), to the state’s agricultural Central Valley , Sierra Nevada Mountains and Donner Pass. The tour will continue on the highway through the states of Nevada, Utah, Wyoming and Nebraska meeting up with their counterparts from the east for the grand parade of cars in Kearney, Nebraska on opening day.
