Suisun Valley's Passport Sunday set for April 12
We may still be in the middle of the winter months here in Fairfield and Northern California but plans are already underway for Suisun Valley's annual Passport Sunday on April 12.
This traditional spring event showcases the wines of Suisun Valley to wine enthusiasts from Fairfield, Solano County and far beyond. Participants spend the afternoon traveling from one winery to the next, tasting the unique wines, sampling delicious food from area restaurants, and collecting stamps on their "passports."
Tickets go on sale March 9 at www.suisunvalley.com. People are encouraged to purchase them early because this event often sells out.
Passport Sunday will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 12. One unique aspect to this event is that guests can travel from one winery to the next on their own schedule. A number of the participating wineries will have live entertainment in addition to the food and wine. Each of the approximately 10 participating wineries presents a unique story and wine tasting and the winemakers love sharing stories about how they craft their wine. Expect to find them pouring behind the bar or from a barrel in their cellar.
Getting around the region is easy and enjoyable, as the Suisun Valley “loop” is located just minutes from Interstate 80 and the city of Fairfield.
