Things to Do in Fairfield to Beat the Heat

The long, hot days of summer are here and as much as we love barbecues, camping, and water fun, triple digit temperatures have just about everyone wanting to be indoors.

Luckily, we have great attractions in Fairfield that can cool you off on a hot summer day or keep you indoors, all while still making memories with family and friends.

Allan Witt Park Aquatic Center, Fairfield CA

Allan Witt Aquatics Complex

If you have children, you know they need to be near water when temperatures hit the triple digits! The city’s Aquatics Complex at Allan Witt Park includes a six-lane pool, a lazy river, two giant 30-ft pool slides, and an outside shallow play area with slides, climbing structures, and water dumping toys. There is also a grass area for families to lounge and enjoy the sunshine.  Guests are welcome to bring in their own food and drink, but please no alcohol or glass.

The aquatics complex is located at 1741 West Texas Street. Summer indoor recreational swim is Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12-4 p.m. until Labor Day!

Meanwhile, the fountains at the Solano County Government Center in downtown Fairfield on Texas Street can be activated daily to help you and the kids cool off. It’s free to play, and the kids are welcome to wear their swimsuits.
